The Representative of an Overseas Business route (also known as the “sole representative” route) remains open but has been significantly restricted.
From 11 April 2022, the route was amended to limit its scope. It is now primarily available to:
The broader route for sole representatives of overseas businesses seeking to establish a UK branch or subsidiary has effectively been replaced by the Global Business Mobility routes, in particular the UK Expansion Worker route.
Existing visa holders under the Representative of an Overseas Business route can continue to extend their stay and apply for settlement, provided they meet the applicable requirements.
